Marcus brought his red corn snake into school to show us this week.
He keeps it as a pet at home and feeds it mice once or twice a week which it swallows whole!
This is its snake skin, you can see the shape of the head and the tail really clearly.

Oak Class Fruit Fractions

Fractions

Oak Class have switched their heads on today and we were making fractions.

We have  been counting up segments from a orange.

Tyler-James said: It was fun making fractions.

Tommy said: It was really hard to work out the amount.

Alex said: I loved making them into fractions and I love eating the fruit after.

Summer said: I liked how we used fruit.

Marcus said: I liked the part when we cut the fruit in half.

We have been working together to make fractions and we have been cutting up fruit.

Some of us were finding out fractions of amounts and measuring in grams to check that our pieces were equal in size.

What will we be learning about fractions with tomorrow do you think?
